Strategic Planning

PURPOSE & OVERVIEW
The purpose of the Strategic Planning Process is to contribute to the school or district's ability to serve and benefit the community by providing a road map that establishes:

Who we are:
  • Mission
  • Core Values and Beliefs

Where we are:
  • Situation Analysis--Parent, faculty, and administrative surveys. Data collected to evaluate student achievement and other school performance measures. Progress report on goals and implementation steps in existing Strategic Plan. SWOT Analysis: (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats)

Where we are going:
  • Strategic Vision
  • Goals--Long-Term (Five-Years), Intermediate (Three-Years), Short-Term (One-Year),
  • Objectives (One-Year)

How we will get there:
  • Strategies (One-Year)
  • Implementation Plans (Three-Months)
  • Resource Requirements
  • Accountability (Methodology for evaluating progress and updating the Plan)

INTENDED OUTCOMES
The success of the process will be measured by the extent to which it achieves the following outcomes:
  • Create a shared Vision that everyone in the school community understands and supports.
  • Develop common understanding of the issues, challenges, and opportunities that the school faces in sustaining and maintaining its Mission.
  • Build consensus around a set of priority goals, and motivate all members of the learning community to work toward achieving these goals.
  • Align resources behind the successful accomplishment of these goals.
Frank's expert guidance in our strategic planning process helped keep us focused, effective, and always moving forward.  No matter what challenge we encountered— differing departmental agendas, unexpected political pitfalls, or even basic personality clashes—Frank always knew how to address the dynamic and come up with a creative solution.  A real plus was that Frank early on won the confidence of our administrative team. A lesser leader might have been shredded to bits by some of our administrators, but Frank had the genius balance of knowing when and how to take charge of the process.

On a personal note, Frank was extremely gracious, organized, well prepared and flexible.  From what I've observed he could handle just about any group and just about any dynamic.
